Rado Strengthens its commitment to the sport

Synonymous with tennis since decades, Rado is proud to announce the new Rado YoungStars programme. This new venture is designed to support up-and-coming young tennis players, with the objective to create an international team of talented, ambitious players with the potential to become the next generation of tennis stars.

The first promising tennis talents to join the YoungStars team, Karen Khachanov, Saisai Zheng, Jared Donaldson and Hyeon Chung, share the skills, strength and willpower that make them perfect candidates for the programme.

Karen Khachanov
The Russian talent rose nearly 300 places in the ATP rankings in October 2013, after reaching the quarterfinals at the Kremlin Cup by Bank of Russia, Moscow. This tournament has been sponsored by Rado since 2012, and in its role as Official Timekeeper the brand was in the ideal position to observe Karen’s impressive performance during last year’s competition. Karen Khachanov is currently number 383 in the ATP rankings.

Saisai Zheng
The 21-year-old Chinese rising star has already achieved several career highlights, including a silver medal in the 2010 Youth Olympics. Saisai began playing tennis at the age of 8 at a tennis academy across the road from her mother’s place of work. While tending to a growing tennis career Saisai is also studying international relations at university. Currently number 75 in the WTA ranking, her career goals include reaching the top 30 an achievement which does not seem too far in the future for this talented tennis player. Saisai dreams of one day winning a Grand Slam title.

Jared Donaldson
The youngest American in the ATP Top 175, Jared Donaldson is currently ranked 174. The Rhode Island native started playing tennis at the age of four, and has since accumulated several achievements including winning his first Challenger event earlier this year in Hawaii. After winning three ITF Futures events in the summer of 2014, Jared received a main raw wildcards into both the singles and doubles at the US Open 2014. With his skill and determination much can be expected from this gifted player.

Hyeon Chung
Currently number 121 in the ATP ranking, the eighteen year old Hyeon, who resides in Kyunggi-Do, South Korea, has long been one of the best young tennis players in the world. His tennis success started at a very young age: at age 12 he won the prestigious Eddie Herr International and Junior Orange Bowl titles back-to-back, and went on to win the Orange Bowl again at the age of 16. In 2013, he won his first professional singles title and reached the final of the Boys Wimbledon Singles Championship, which marks him as a leader of the next generation of young tennis stars — and one to watch. The road to the top is still long for the Rado YoungStars, but dedication, determination and the will to succeed are values they share with Rado, making the brand the perfect partner for these young tennis stars.
